7 Belly-Flattening Fashion Tricks for Crossdressers and MTF Transgender Women
Does that mean all hope is lost if your tummy is your trouble spot?
Absolutely not! For an instant fix, just work a few strategic tummy-trimming and waistline-slimming looks into your wardrobe.
Aside from making you look thinner, these will also help create a more feminine, hourglass shape.
Keep reading for my top 7 belly-flattening fashion tricks for crossdressers and MTF transgender women:
Trick #1: Wear a shaping camisole
Corsets and girdles will certainly pull you in, but they’re not very comfortable for daily wear.
Instead, wear a shaping camisole under your clothes. It’s a wonderful alternative for trimming inches from your waist and belly – while still allowing you to breath.
Trick #2: Try a tummy-minimizing peplum
Peplums are very “in” right now and they’re a fabulous style for crossdressers and MTF transgender women.
A peplum is a short overskirt attached at the waistline of a top, dress, or jacket that’s perfect for covering a full belly. And thanks to the fit-and-flare styling, a peplum will also give you that sexy hourglass shape.
Trick #3: Avoid bottoms that sit too far above or below your waistline
If you have a big belly, the waistband of your skirt or pants should sit just below your belly button.
If the waistband is too high, it’ll look like your stomach is popping out below. If the waistband is too low, you’ll get the “muffin top” look.
Trick #4: Wear a light colored jacket over a dark top
Wearing a light colored jacket over a dark top is a great way to downplay an ample tummy. The jacket conceals excess poundage while the dark color underneath makes your belly recede into the background.
For the best results, look for a jacket with some shape. Princess seams are especially feminine and flattering.
Trick #5: Downplay belly rolls with a ruched top
Ruching (i.e. fabric that’s gathered along the seam line) is perfect for concealing an ample belly.
Unlike “flat” fabrics that reveal every bulge, ruching hides what’s underneath – including those dreaded belly rolls.
Trick #6: Just say “no” to tight clothes
If your belly is your trouble spot, you definitely want to avoid wearing tight clothes.
Clothes that are too tight (including bras and panties) will dig in and create unsightly bulges – calling even more attention to the area.
Trick #7: Avoid oversized clothes
Just as you should avoid clothes that are too tight, neither do you want to wear clothes that are too loose. Trying to hide a big belly under an oversized top just makes you look bigger.
Instead, your most flattering option is clothes that skim – rather than drown – your midsection.
No more trouble spots
Looking your best as a woman is all about downplaying trouble spots while playing up your assets.
Use these tricks to solve your “tummy troubles” and then move on! It’s impossible for people to notice your flaws if they’re too busy looking at something else – like your sexy legs, breasts, or behind.
As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

How to Look Extra Sexy This Summer (MTF Transgender / Crossdressing Tips)
Summer is around the corner (here in the Northern Hemisphere at least) and I couldn’t be more excited!
While warm weather has its beauty challenges, summer a great time to be a girl. There’s nothing like stepping out en femme in a cute sundress or sexy bikini.
Ready to turn a few heads this season?
Here are 7 tips – specifically for crossdressers and transgender women – to help you look extra sexy and feminine this summer.
1. Don a pair of oversized sunglasses
Oversized sunglasses are trendy, sexy, and glamorous. The secret to pulling them off in style is to choose flattering frames:
- If you have angular features, choose rounded frames to balance out your face.
- If you have a round face, angular frames are most flattering.
2. Highlight your hair
Nothing says summer like highlights, so add some highlights to your hair or pick up a highlighted wig. By the way, girls of all ethnicities can wear highlights. Auburn or chocolate highlights look fabulous with dark hair.
3. Get a spray tan
Suntans are sexy and make your body look thinner and more toned. But instead of frying in the sun or messing with self tanners, why not indulge in a spray tan from a salon? Spray tans cost $25-$50 and last about a week, so they’re a great thing to do before a special event or girly photo shoot.
4. Change your perfume
Changing your perfume is a great way to get into the mood for summer. Take a break from heavy, musky fragrances and choose something light and fruity for the summer. My current favs are Fresh Sugar Lemon, DKNY Be Delicious Fresh Blossom, and Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh.
5. Go totally bare
There is nothing as sexy as smooth silky skin, so why not go totally bare and remove ALL your body hair for the summer? I guarantee you’ll feel very girly! You’ll also feel cooler and smell fresher – another plus for the feminine experience.
6. Try a colorful eyeliner
Colorful eyeliner is a big trend right now and it’s a perfect look for the summer. Try a touch of blue, green, or purple eyeliner on your upper or lower eyelids. (Avoid pink eye liner since it can make your eyes look tired.) Keep the rest of your makeup muted.
7. Invest in a new dress
For my last tip, I am giving you permission to go shopping! A sexy new sundress is a great way to kick off the summer. Look for flowing, gathered styles to create the illusion of curves.
Let’s see your summer look!
Whether or not you plan to step out in public, summer is a great time to indulge your feminine self. Do you have any special plans for the season?
I’d love to see your favorite summer look, so please share your photos below!

How to Walk Like a Woman (MTF Transgender / Crossdressing Tips)
Your walk is a critical aspect of your feminine image. Unfortunately, it’s easy to go from one extreme (a masculine walk) to the other (over-exaggerated hip swinging).
How can you find a happy medium as you master your feminine movements? Read on for 3 simple tips to help you achieve a natural, womanly walk.
A big difference between men and women is that women tend to have more fluid body movements.
That means you can sway your hips all you want – but until you learn how to “loosen up,” your feminine walk will always look stiff and unnatural.
The Hip Matrix can help with this. Created by movement specialist Rob Brinded, the Hip Matrix exercise is designed to release tension and free up your body movements so you can achieve a flowing, feminine walk.
Watch the video above and then try it for yourself. If you compare your walk before and after, I promise you’ll be amazed by the difference! (Learn more about Rob’s approach to feminine movement in my Stepping Out Secrets Program.)
Women have a lower center of gravity than men due to their wider hips. This creates that sexy hip sway that’s characteristic of a feminine walk.
Forcing your hips to sway usually looks unnatural. Instead, practice walking in high heels. High heels change your center of gravity and exaggerate the forward curve of your spine. This helps release the hips, which naturally feminizes your movements.
You can enhance this effect by trying to keep your shoulders still as you walk. This forces you to use your hips for balance.
Once you’ve mastered hip walking in heels, practice the same movements in flat shoes.
Shortening your stride is another easy and effective way to feminize your walk.
The average woman’s step length (the distance from the toe of one foot to the toe of the opposite foot) is 26”. So if you want to be scientific about it, get out a ruler and measure your steps! Your natural stride is probably longer, so work on taking shorter steps.
Note: The higher your heels are, the shorter your steps should be.
CONCLUSION
There are other subtle elements that define a feminine walk, but these tips are a great place to start. Give them a try and let me know what you think!
I’d also love to hear about any other movement tips or techniques you’ve found helpful. Please share in the comments below.

6 Feminization Tips from Old Hollywood (For Crossdressers and MTF Transgender Women)
Want to add more sparkle and glamour to your life? Try these 6 tips from Old Hollywood that can be applied to your own feminine transformation!
1. JOAN CRAWFORD – GOOD HAIR GOES A LONG WAY
“I think that the most important thing a woman can have – next to talent, of course – is her hairdresser.” – Joan Crawford
Few things have a bigger impact on your appearance than your hair. This applies whether you wear a wig or style your own natural hair. If you want to look younger, prettier, and more feminine, the right hairstyle is the secret. Here are the 6 best hairstyles for crossdressers and transgender women.
2. SOPHIA LOREN – BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL
“Nothing makes a woman more beautiful than the belief that she is beautiful.” – Sophia Loren
All the lipstick, hairspray, and surgery in the world can’t make you beautiful if you don’t feel it on the inside. Instead of comparing yourself to others, focus on your own unique beauty and femininity. Take the advice of Sophia Loren and believe that you are beautiful.
3. AUDREY HEPBURN – ALWAYS BE ELEGANT
“Elegance is the only beauty that never fades.” – Audrey Hepburn
Who could be more elegant than Audrey Hepburn herself? With her sophisticated style and graceful demeanor, she’s my favorite example of ladylike elegance. If you want to emulate Audrey Hepburn, you can start by avoiding these 5 mistakes that make you less ladylike.
4. EARTHA KITT – DON’T WORRY ABOUT THE HATERS
“I have used all the manure that has been thrown on me as fertilizer to make me stronger.” – Eartha Kitt
If there are people in your life who don’t understand you, rest assured that you are not alone. Even somebody as fabulous and gorgeous as Eartha Kitt had her share of haters. Instead of letting them get you down, use their manure as fertilizer to make you grow stronger.
5. MARILYN MONROE – FIND YOUR SIGNATURE SCENT
“What do I wear in bed? Why, Chanel No. 5, of course.” – Marilyn Monroe
Scent is strongly linked to emotions, which means the right perfume can make you feel irresistibly feminine. Scent also triggers memories. Applying a signature scent that makes you feel fabulous can instantly bring back feelings of confidence and femininity. Take a tip from Marilyn Monroe and find your own signature scent.
6. MAE WEST – LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST
“You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.” – Mae West
Choosing to embrace the woman within is a bold decision. You should be applauded for this! Many people never dare to express their deepest desires or true selves. As Mae West said, you only live once. So live life to the fullest – feminine self and all!
WHO INSPIRES YOU?
As you as inspired by these classic beauties as I am? If so, I’d love to know who you favorite Old Hollywood actresses are – and which “lessons” you have learned from them.

7 Simple Ways to Improve Your Appearance (MTF Transgender / Crossdressing Tips)
Do you think looking your best as a woman means you need a head-to-toe makeover – or even feminizing surgery?
It doesn’t!
Looking beautiful often comes down to a few simple changes.
Of course, the basics are important. Nice hair and makeup, flattering clothes, and a reasonably fit body are a great starting point.
But beyond that, it’s the details that make or break your feminine image.
Want to look better right now?
Here are 7 simple ways to improve your appearance:
1. FIND YOUR BEST LIPSTICK SHADE
One of the easiest ways to improve your appearance is to wear lipstick. A Manchester University study proved that women are perceived as more attractive when they wear lipstick – regardless of the rest of their appearance.
The secret is to wear the right shade of lipstick. Here are two quick tips for selecting your best shade:
- Use your eyes as a guide. For the most flattering look, your lips should be the same intensity as the iris of your eye. (The iris is the colored part of your eye.) For example, if you have light blue eyes, wear a light shade of lipstick. If you have dark brown eyes, a deeper shade will be most flattering.
- Do the fingertip test. To easily test lipstick shades, put different colors on your fingertips and hold them against your mouth to see which looks best.
2. GROOM YOUR EYEBROWS
Your eyebrows literally create the frame for your face. For better or for worse, they have the power to transform your entire look.
The good news is that there’s a lot you can do to shape and feminize your eyebrows – even if you can’t pluck. Check out this eyebrow tutorial for more info.
3. INVEST IN A GREAT BAG
Women often judge each other based on their handbags. After all, why do women in certain circles pay thousands of dollars for the latest “it” bag?
I’m not saying you need to buy a Gucci purse, but investing in a quality handbag will add polish and style to your appearance – while giving you fashionista status among other women.
The truth is, physical attractiveness often comes down to good grooming. One of the keys to good grooming – and a feminine appearance – is to get rid of excess body hair.
You already know that your beard, chest hair, and hairy legs have to go. But don’t forget about the less obvious spots, including your:
- Nose
- Ears
- Knuckles
- Toes
5. WEAR THE RIGHT SHAPEWEAR
The right shapewear can have a dramatic effect on your silhouette. It smooths out excess flesh and helps to feminize your proportions.
The best shapewear for you depends on your outfit and how much shaping you need. Consider investing in the following garments:
- Control top pantyhose. Perfect for smoothing out your trouble spots, they also add polish and definition to the legs.
- Waist cincher. Use this when you need extra shaping in the middle and want to carve out an hourglass shape.
- Shaping camisole. Wear one under your everyday clothes to smooth your belly and love handles.

6. WHITEN YOUR TEETH
Yellow teeth dull your appearance. Don’t underestimate the impact of pretty white teeth. A white smile brightens up your entire face!
I suggest using a whitening toothpaste daily and doing a whitening treatment every six months. There are some great at-home options, including:
- Crest 3D Whitestrips
- Dr. Song Home Professional Teeth Whitening Kit
- Rembrandt Intense Stain Dissolving Strips
7. GET ENOUGH SLEEP
They don’t call it beauty rest for nothing. A lack of sleep shows up on your face – no matter how pretty and feminine you look.
Didn’t get enough sleep last night? Try this free guided mediation and take a 20 minute beauty nap!
SMALL CHANGES ADD UP TO BIG IMPROVEMENTS
The bottom line is that there are a LOT of ways to improve your appearance without having to invest in a new wardrobe, hire a transformation service, or go under the knife.
Little changes can have a big impact on your feminine image!
These 7 tips are a great place to start, but now I’d like to hear from YOU …

How to Feminize Broad Shoulders (MTF Transgender / Crossdressing Tips)
I’m often asked how to minimize the look of broad shoulders. Fortunately, there’s lots you can do to downplay your shoulders and feminize your body proportions.
But first things first… Don’t feel bad about the size of your shoulders!
Many cisgender (genetic) women have broad shoulders – including some of the most beautiful models and celebrities in the world.
Instead, try these 10 tips and techniques to minimize your shoulders while creating an elegant and feminine look.
1. Find a flattering neckline
As a general rule, you should avoid square or horizontal necklines. Instead, opt for necklines with rounded or vertical lines to help soften and slim your shoulders. For example:
Neckline DOs
- V-neck
- Scoop neck
- Halter tops
- Thick shoulder straps
Neckline DON’Ts
- Bateau neck
- Square neck
- Strapless or sleeveless tops
- Spaghetti straps
Your breast forms should be large enough to balance out your shoulders. However, they shouldn’t be so big that they add excessive bulk to your upper body. Here are some guidelines for choosing a cup size:
- If you have a small frame – choose a B or C cup.
- If you have a medium frame – choose a C or D cup.
- If you have a large frame – choose a D cup or larger.
3. Wear darker colors on top
Dark colors have a slimming effect, so an easy way to balance your proportions is to wear dark colors on top and light colors on the bottom.
4. Choose your sleeves wisely
Sleeves can have a big impact (good or bad) on the appearance of your shoulders. Here are some suggestions:
- Avoid sleeves that cut horizontally across your biceps.
- Avoid puffy or ruffled sleeves.
- Look for sleeves with a slimming diagonal cut.
- 3/4 length sleeves are universally flattering.
5. Avoid shoulder pads
This tip is obvious. Shoulder pads are the last thing you need, so don’t be afraid to cut them out of your tops and jackets.
6. Distract with a printed bottom
Drawing people’s eyes away from your shoulders is a great distraction technique. Bring attention to your lower body with a printed or embellished bottom.
7. Wear skirts that flare out
Skirts that flare out at the bottom help balance the width of your shoulders, creating a more feminine silhouette. Look for gathered, flared, pleated, and/or a-line skirts. Avoid strait skirts and fitted pants.
8. Choose the right jacket
When it comes to jackets, you should avoid broad collars and double breasted styles. Instead, opt for single breasted jackets with a narrow collar and lapels.
9. Know your best necklace length
Long necklaces create vertical lines that help slim the upper body. Avoid short, chunky necklaces and chokers.
10. Find a flattering hairstyle
Yes, even the right hairstyle helps. Here are some guidelines:
- Hair that falls above or below your shoulders is most flattering.
- Avoid hairstyles that fall at exactly shoulder length.
- Straight hair emphasizes the angles of your body and can make the shoulders look wider.
- Full, wavy hair helps soften the shoulders and balances broader body proportions.
In conclusion
Never forget that you can look beautiful and feminine at any size or shape. The secret is to distract from so-called flaws while playing up your assets.
Do you have broad shoulders? If so, what are your favorite tips for looking your best when getting dressed?

Out of the Closet: Relationship Tips for Crossdressers and Transgender Women
Note from Lucille: This is a guest post by Leanne, Transformation Maven of Lesada. Relationships are an important (and complex) topic, so I’m excited to bring you Leanne’s perspective. We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
Dresses, skirts, lingerie and shoes – where do you put all the shoes?! It doesn’t take long for a closet to fill up. The more cluttered it gets, the harder it is to tell what’s there and what fits beautifully on you.
The same can be said for the metaphorical closet. The longer you keep yourself hidden, the harder it is to see who you really are. That is a great loss to yourself and to your partner. Hiding who you are takes a lot of energy that is better spent on keeping the sparkle in your relationship and enriching your experiences in life. Hiding who you are also causes a lot of stress and unnecessary strain on you and your relationships.
If you are concerned that your secret life will hurt someone you care about, or that they will think less of you, consider instead that they are missing the opportunity of knowing the truly beautiful person you are. You are actually robbing them of the opportunity to love you completely.
The exciting thing about being in love is wanting to know everything you can about the person who makes your heart sing. You want to know their private intimacies, how they think, what turns them on, their history and story that made them who they are. You want to know these things because you love them and want to give them the best. Why would they not want the same of you?
I encourage you to love yourself first. Loving who you are, without shame, loving the whole you, frees your spirit so you can grow to be all that you are meant to be. What a gift to give yourself! What a gift to give your partner!
There are far too many crossdressers and transgender women in the closet. I have heard enough stories about secrets, but I have also heard many stories of success. Secrets hurt and indicate shame. Being yourself is not shameful. It’s time to come out of the closet, clear the clutter and make room for more shoes!
Here are some tips from couples on how to incorporate your feminine side into a successful, loving relationship:
- Great journeys begin with a single step. If you have a huge fantasy of being a woman, full time with your wife, but you haven’t told her yet, start small! Do little things to gradually work up to your goal. Start by painting each other’s toe nails for example. Baby steps, baby steps.
- Tell her you love her. Assure her that you love her as well as yourself, and that you will be a better partner to her if you don’t have secrets. Let her know that she is still the love of your life, even if you are seeking new friendships.
- Compromise. Don’t push your partner to go beyond what she is willing to do. This may take a lot of getting used to on her part, especially if you’ve been the same in the relationship for many years.
- Make it fun! People continue to do things when they are having fun, so be playful and loving while she discovers this new side of you. Maybe she could dress up and be someone different as well while you are en femme. Private secrets between just you too can be very fun!
- Find friends. Join groups online, attend events or conferences that are non-sexual in nature so she can be assured that you aren’t deviating from your relationship with her.
- Seek a coach or mediator to guide you through this new phase of your relationship

24763 http://blog.feminization.us/crossdress-tips/the-top-7-bra-styles-every-crossdresser-and-mtf-transgender-woman-should-own/ Mon, 16 Oct 2017 06:42:35 +0000
The Top 7 Bra Styles Every Crossdresser and MTF Transgender Woman Should Own
With so many bra options to choose from, it’s easy to go wrong and wear a bra that’s the incorrect size or style for your body type.
Crossdressers and transgender women have unique needs when it comes to bras. If you want to enhance your feminine curves (without wasting money on bad bra purchases), consider these 7 bra styles:
A pocket bra, or mastectomy bra, has pockets in the cups to hold breast forms securely in place. If you wear breast forms (especially large or heavy forms), a pocket bra is a must.
2. FRONT CLOSURE BRA
Crossdressers and transgender women tend to have wide rib cages and/or widely spaced breasts. This can make it hard to find a bra that fits properly.
Enter the front closure bra. Front closure bras have a clasp in the front of the bra instead of the back. These bras have wider set cups, making them easier to fit.
3. T-SHIRT BRA
The t-shirt bra is every girl’s best friend. It’s a seamless, molded cup bra that’s designed to look smooth under your clothes – even the most form-fitting tee. Best of all, t-shirt bras come in a wide range of sizes.
4. CONVERTIBLE BRA
A common complaint I hear from crossdressers and transgender women is that many bras have straps that aren’t long enough for them.
Convertible bras offer a perfect solution. Convertible bras have removable straps that can be worn in different ways – including crisscrossed. Because of this, they have longer straps than regular bras.
Balconette bras have cups that are cut horizontally across the bust. This is a beautiful cup style that’s particularly flattering to wide rib cages and/or wide set breasts.
Most balconette bras are padded, so they’re also great for giving “the girls” some extra oomph.
6. WIRELESS BRA
Underwire bras offer maximum support, so they’re ideal if you wear breast forms. However, they can be hard to fit if you have a wide chest.
Consider wearing a wireless bra instead. Wireless bras have a more forgiving fit, so they’re much more comfortable.
If you want to wear a soft cup bra with breast forms, look for a wireless pocketed bra or attach the breast forms to your chest with tape or adhesive.
7. ADHESIVE BRA
Adhesive bras are a backless, strapless bra style that’s attached to the breasts with adhesive.
These bras are fabulous for creating cleavage, so they’re a must for your femme wardrobe. (Click here to learn more about how to create cleavage with an adhesive bra.)
IN CONCLUSION
While you don’t need to limit yourself to these 7 bra styles (the sky’s the limit in bra land!), they’re a great place to start.
Now I’d like to hear about YOUR favorite bras. Is there a particular bra style or brand that works for you?
Please share in the comments below!

Lucille

Of all the topics I cover on this blog, lingerie is definitely the most popular. And why not? There’s nothing like indulging your feminine self in a lacy bra or silk nightie.
While half the fun of lingerie is expressing your own personal style, there are certain “rules” worth keeping in mind.
Are you following “the rules?”
Find out by reviewing my top 7 lingerie rules – specifically for crossdressers and transgender women.
Rule #1: Know thy bra size
Most women wear the wrong bra size, so there’s a good chance that you might be too. A bra that doesn’t fit right is uncomfortable and creates unattractive bumps and bulges. No girl needs that!
Your best option is to be professionally fitted for your bra size. (Don’t be afraid to go in for a fitting. Many lingerie shops are transgender-friendly, especially if you call ahead.) I also wrote an entire post on finding your bra size here.
A bra strap peeking out of your top can be sexy. Visible panty lines? Not so much. Here are 5 ways to avoid VPL (visible panty lines):
- Make sure your panties fit right. If they’re too tight, they’ll dig in and create bulges. Too loose and they’ll wrinkle and bunch up.
- Try seamless underwear for a smoother look. Seamless panties are made without seams or trimmings that can show through clothes.
- Wear a thong. No visible panty lines there!
- Go for boyshorts. Boyshorts might not sound girly, but they’re actually really cute and don’t create panty lines.
- Avoid cotton panties. Cotton undies have a tendency to bunch up.
While the rule about matching your shoes and bag is outdated, your bra and panties should look like a set. Mismatched lingerie looks sloppy and even if nobody sees it but you, why not look your best? The colors don’t have to be an exact match, but they should at least coordinate.
Rule #4: Choose high quality fabrics
Since lingerie is worn next to your body, fabric makes all the difference in the world. High quality fabrics feel great, lay more smoothly, and last longer. Cheap fabrics wear out quickly and can even trap odors. (Eww!) Look for lingerie constructed with quality fabrics like jersey, silk, rayon, and cotton.
Do you own any ratty panties or stretched out bras? If so, toss them immediately. It’s hard to feel sexy and feminine in worn out lingerie, so get rid of anything that’s lost its luster. Most lingerie items need to be replaced every 18 months or so.
To extend your bra’s life span, let your bra rest a day between wearings to keep the elastic from stretching out. If you only own one bra, that means it’s time to shop for another one (or 10!).
Rule #7: Buy lingerie that fits your lifestyle
Do you have a bunch of sexy underthings, yet nothing practical to wear under your clothes? Or maybe you lack certain feminizing shapewear pieces. Lingerie should fit your lifestyle, so take stock. Are you missing anything from these categories?
- Basics – T-shirt bra, seamless panties, pantyhose, etc.
- Shapewear – Control cami, girdle, padded panties, pocketed bra for breast forms, etc.
- Sleepwear – Nightgown, robe, sleep bra, etc.
- Sexy – Lace bra and panties, body suit, garter, etc.
- Activewear – Sports bra, moisture wicking panties, etc.
Let’s talk lingerie!
What do you think of these lingerie rules? Do you agree with them? Do you have any lingerie rules of your own?
Please share in the comments below! And for bonus points, don’t forget to upload a photo of your favorite lingerie look.
Love,
Lucille

- Encourage her to seek out friends who are also in crossdressing/transgender relationships. Crossing Paths is a group just for her.
- Seek a coach or mediator to guide you through this new phase of your relationship
